Now arriving on Track #2, YOU!

Murphy’s Bylaw:
Job loss is tough and it’s all around us right now. It’s awfully difficult to find a bylaw on career derailment when bills are mounting and prospects are dim. Let’s try:

#1 Think, plan and execute for the future. You now have the freedom to do so and for your agenda, not someone else’s, not for an organization’s. This economy will turn around. Dust off all the old “never had time for” projects and begin anew on step number one. At the very least it’ll keep you thinking and busy.


#2 Volunteer. Down time equals freedom to share your time. There are loads of people, groups, organizations, churches, schools, communities that need your expertise and experience. At the very least it’ll keep you organized, scheduled and sharp.


#3 Exercise. Go for a walk. Go for a run. Chop some wood. Jump some road. Lift some weights. At the very least your spirit will improve.


#4 Communicate. Speak with anyone who will listen, about anything. Career coaches call this “networking.” Murphy calls it “Talking.” At the very least you’ll be learn something new.


#5 Learn. Pick any subject that interests you and research the heck out of it, write a blog on it. Become an expert. At the very least you’ll sharpen your writing skills.
